Home-Based ABA Therapy

Home-Based ABA Therapy

  • At SBS, our 1:1 services are delivered by ABA technicians and overseen by BCBAs. Services begin with a comprehensive assessment to help inform treatment goals and a recommendation for weekly service hours. We target socially significant goals such as communication, leisure, social skills, independence, and decreasing problem behavior. Our goal during treatment is to create a strong rapport between your child and the team so they feel happy, engaged, and safe during therapy sessions. Throughout the course of services, the BCBA will continually evaluate your child’s preferences for activities and learning styles, while also ensuring they are making meaningful progress towards their goals.

Early Intervention

Early Intervention

  • At SBS we offer early and intensive behavioral intervention to children as young as 12 months. Our team will work directly with you and your child’s care team to design goals and programming that will help your child learn essential communication and play skills. Our early intervention is play based and incorporates naturalistic teaching focused on all the things your child loves.

School Consultation and Support

School Consultation and Support

  • SBS behavior analysts provide consultation and support to school district teachers, BCBAs, and program administrators. Our goal is to support professionals in creating and running high-quality and effective educational programs for their students. We specialize in staff training, program design and classroom management, the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, and implementing systems to better measure and improve student outcomes.

SBS also supports local school districts by supplying PhD-level behavior analysts (BCBAs) to fulfill service hours dictated by students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Our BCBAs serve individual schools or several schools within one district by conducting functional behavior assessments, designing behavior support plans, training teachers and classroom staff, and representing the district at meetings with families.

Practical Functional Assessment and Skills-Based Treatment

Practical Functional Assessment and Skills-Based Treatment

  • BCBAs at SBS are committed to understanding why your child has problematic behavior and what they are attempting to communicate during challenging moments. BCBAs complete a practical functional assessment (PFA) to understand what contributes to problematic behavior. Following the assessment, the BCBA will implement skills-based treatment which is centered around empowering your child with communication, cooperation, and toleration skills.

Caregiver Support

Caregiver Support

  • Caregiver support is integral to child progress and is a part of all services provided by SBS. Our BCBAs work with caregivers to identify meaningful goals for caregivers. Goals may include understanding the basics of ABA, teaching and fostering communication, sibling interactions, support at community events, toilet training, sleep support, food selectivity, and how to respond to challenging behavior. Parent support can be provided during therapy sessions or via telehealth.

Food Selectivity

Food Selectivity Treatment

  • If your child has difficulty trying new foods, BCBAs at SBS can help design a program aimed at helping your child try new foods. After completing parent interviews and learning about child preferences, the BCBA will implement a program that includes preferences, choice, and assent. The goal is to increase your child’s willingness to try new foods with the goal of identifying new preferences along the way.

Sleep Challenges

Sleep Challenges

  • If your child has difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or sleeping independently, SBS BCBAs can help design and implement a sleep routine aimed at improving the quality of your child’s sleep. The assessment begins with a comprehensive interview to learn about your child’s sleep history, challenges, and finally, your goals for sleep. The BCBA will use this information to design a sleep routine and then help you implement the routine.

Toilet Training

Toilet Training

  • SBS offers programming designed to increase independence with toileting. After interviewing caregivers, we carefully design goals and a plan to help your child use the bathroom independently.
